Most specialty coffee beans cost ₹600–₹988 per 250g, and the median is ₹750. Prices start around ₹252, and rare lots go past ₹1,750. Prices here are converted to 250g so different pack sizes compare fairly.

There’s no single best: it depends on how you drink it. For milk drinks like cappuccinos, many people prefer medium-dark roasts or blends, which give a heavier body and hold up in milk. For straight espresso, many specialty roasters now use single-origin coffees at medium or even lighter roasts, for a brighter, fruitier shot. Try both and see which you prefer. No. Many roasters will grind the same coffee for your brewing method, such as pour-over, French press, moka pot, espresso or South Indian filter, when you order. Whole beans stay fresh for longer once opened, so a grinder is worth buying later, but you don’t need one to start.

Mostly in Karnataka’s Western Ghats, which grow about 70% of India’s coffee, led by Chikmagalur and Coorg, with smaller regions in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the Eastern Ghats around Araku and Koraput. 310 of the coffees here come from Chikmagalur and 46 from Coorg.
